Message from the Chairman
Just a short note to wish you all a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
As an overview of the club's position coming up to the festive season, we didn't enjoy a particularly busy summer, but our party evenings helped bridge the gap financially.
It was somewhat disappointing to see a crowd of some 40 people watching out live band in November who were extremely good.
Please keep the following dates for your diaries in the New Year for our monthly Quiz. For the first quarter our Quiz nights will be the 8th January, the 5th February and the 5th March. I would like to thank all of our regular quiz participants for their continued support. It would also be great to see some fresh teams for our quizzes next year.
We will also be supporting two charities in the coming year.
On the 21st February we will be hosting our first charity night supporting Crohn’s and Colitis from which one of our member's sons suffers. Please support this worthwhile cause.
Then on the 25th April we will support the Canterbury Oast charity. This is a great charity we have supported for many years and we will be hoping to donate a sizeable sum again.
I would encourage any member who would like to host a party to speak to myself or Kelly as these events all help to keep our club profitable.
I also remind you that we have gone to great lengths and expense to re-open our kitchen and your support in this direction would also be appreciated.
You are all welcome to join us with your families on Christmas Day between 12 and 2pm. There is a free drink for all members on Christmas Day.
Finally, I would like to thank Kelly and all of our other staff for their dedication and hard work throughout this last year. The hard work and effort put in by Kelly especially, goes above and beyond her normal working hours and all of our members should be very grateful to her for everything she does for us all.
