17th December 2012

Dear All,

Just a short note before our Christmas Festivities begin.

Our OAP's lunch was very well attended with all enjoying a fine lunch accompanied by our live Jazz band playing.

It was a shame that not many people attended the Ryan Elliot & Nick Pierce evening as they played extremely well to the few that were here.

Our next Quiz night will be on the 10th January to allow us all to get over Christmas. All our regulars and all new comers are very welcome.

Our new sports package is a vast improvement and all we need now is for BT to upgrade our internet connection for the picture to be perfect. We will be posting a schedule of the Premiership fixtures we will be showing in due course.

Please don't forget that your membership fees are now due and can be paid behind the bar.

Last Friday we had a wonderful private party hosted by Peter Clarke (one of our valued members). We would like to thank Peter, his wife and all their guests for their great support and would encourage other members to take full advantage of our facilities for private events.

Finally, I wish you all a merry Christmas and as always members can join us for a free drink on Christmas Day lunchtime between 12 - 1pm, the bar then closes at 2pm.

Kind Regards,

Tony Jones

28th November 2012

Dear All,

We are pleased to announce that we have had one of our best trading months of the year during November. This was partly due to the fantastic Barry J Swing Experience last Saturday night.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for next Thursday's Quiz (6th December). Start time 8:00PM, food will be available. We also have Ryan Elliot and Nick Pierce playing live on Saturday night the 8th December. All welcome.

We have a great Rockabilly band (Vince Lightning & the Thunderboltz) playing live on the 29th December. Tickets will be available from Friday 30th November. Members £3, Guests £6.

As I am sure our sports fans will be aware we have been plagued by technical problems from our current supplier of Satellite TV. We have instructed them to remove their equipment and as of the 7th December a new Apple system will be installed. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused our members, but assure you that we have worked diligently to resolve these issues.

Just a short reminder that membership subscriptions are due shortly and can be paid behind the bar.

I would also like to remind all our members to book private functions at our club as it is a great way to support the club. Thanks to Michael Devitt and family for their support last Saturday.

Finally, I would like to personally thank Tina for not only her hard work, but her great organisational skills in facilitating an efficient staff rota. This was particularly evident on our last two major Saturday night events.

 Kind Regards,

 Tony Jones

15th November 2012

Dear All,

We are still increasing our turnover and pushing our events and drive for new members. Last Saturday we hosted our Oast House Charity Quiz which was a massive success and the club managed to donate a further £683 to the charity. I received an email from Ken, who is in charge of the charity, and to date they have raised £160,000. Our club to date has donated £8,000 to the charity, which I feel is a massive achievement. We are currently trying to arrange two Oast House events for next year and hope they will as successful as the last.

I have to apologise for the recent internet outage and subsequent lack of football coverage over the weekend. For those of you who came in on Sunday to watch the Chelsea game I will be happy to buy you a drink as a gesture of goodwill. The lack of internet coverage was due to a problem in the road and has been repaired today.

There are no tickets left for The Barry J Experience on the 24th November. But tickets will soon be on sale for our Rockabilly band on the 29th December.

Our Quiz on the 1st November was not as well attended as our previous Quiz's, but we would love to see you at our next Quiz on the 6th December.

I am also pleased to announce that on Wednesday afternoons we have a live jazz band practicing in the main bar area. You are all welcome to come and listen and enjoy the live music from 2pm - 5pm.

Finally, I would just like to thank our staff and committee for all their efforts and hard work helping to keep the club open.

Kind Regards,

Tony Jones
